Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett will address the 2013 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference during the event's Liberty Dinner on Friday, April 19, 2013, at the Radisson Penn Harris Convention Center in Camp Hill, PA.
 

Gov. Corbett will become the first sitting governor to speak at the conference in the 24-year history of the Keystone State's largest gathering of conservative political activists.
 

Corbett joins Steve Hayes of Fox News/The Weekly Standard, pollster/commentator Scott Rasmussen, Fox News Contributor Deneen Borelli, FrackNation producer Ann McElhinney, U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey, political analyst John Gizzi, Congressman Scott Perry, Congressman Keith Rothfus, and John Fund of National Review as announced speakers for the two-day event.
 

This year's conference will be held on April 19-20, 2013.
 

Panel topics include session on Broadening the Conservative Coalition, Unleashing the Economic Potential of Penn's Woods, Freedom to Work, and a State IssuesRoundtable. There will also be three workshop sessions focusing on Using Social Media; The 10th Amendment and States' Rights and Citizen Lobbying.

What a back-handed endorsement of ultra-liberal Sen. Bob Casey Jr. by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, which is probably the most conservative newspaper in Pennsylvania: "Despite our policy differences with Casey, we prefer the Democrat we know to the Republican of convenience."

Apparently, the newspaper doesn't trust businessman Tom Smith because he spent most of his life as a registered Democrat before he switched to the Republican Party and defeated several better-known candidates for the right to challenge Casey.

Pretty harsh words against Smith. Wasn't Ronald Reagan a Democrat before he saw the light?

The race still comes down to far-left Casey, who has rubber-stamped the failed Obama agenda over the past four years or a "conservative Democrat" who is pushing fiscal restraint, smaller government and accountability.

The Tribune-Review editorial says Casey is a nice guy who has treated Republican Sen. Pat Toomey, a conservative idol, with respect, but the bottom line is that Tom Smith's platform is a lot closer to Toomey's than it is to Bob Casey's.

Sending Mr. Smith to Washington as part of a Republican majority in the Senate would go a long way to repairing the damage Barack Obama has done over the past four years.

Add Newt Gingrich to the list of big-name speakers lined up for the 2012 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference, the largest gathering of Pennsylvania conservatives.

Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich will bring his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination to the 2012 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference when he serves as the closing speaker on Saturday, March 23 at 1:30 P.M., according to PLC organizer Lowman Henry.

The Pennsylvania Leadership Conference is the premiere annual gathering of conservative activists and is being held this Friday and Saturday, March 23^rd and 24^th at the Radisson Penn Harris Convention Center in Camp Hill.

Speaker Gingrich, the latest addition to a growing program of activities planned for the 2012 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference. This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Fox News Senior Political Analyst Brit Hume. Also scheduled to speak are presidential candidate Rick Santorum, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley speaking on behalf of Mitt Romney, Presidential candidate Herman Cain, film producer Ann McElhinney, U.S. Senator Hon. Pat Toomey, Lt. Governor Hon. Hon. James Cawley, Grover G. Norquist from Americans for Tax Reform and Human Events White House correspondent and political editor John Gizzi. Candidates for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senator will debate at the conference luncheon on Saturday, March 24th.

Four interactive panel presentations will constitute the policy core of the conference with topics set to include: Right-Sizing State Government; Marcellus: How Shale We Proceed; Obama's Regulatory Overkill; and Reagan-izing the PA GOP. The Constitution Organization of Liberty (COOL) will present a pre-conference seminar on the Bill of Rights. Also scheduled for Friday morning, March 23rd, is an activist training workshop conducted by the Americans for Prosperity Foundation and the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity. The Franklin Center will also sponsor a Saturday afternoon seminar on utilizing video in messaging.

The Heritage Foundation and the Family Research Council will be sending their “Values Bus,” to promote voter registration efforts.

Match.com Releases Its Second Annual Comprehensive Study on Singles

Conservative Sam Rohrer, who served in the Pennsylvania Legislature for 18 years and ran for the Republican nomination for Pennsylvania governor in 2010, plans to announce Monday he will run for a U.S. Senate seat from Pennsylvania in 2012.

The announcement is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at the Governor's Ballroom of the Radisson Penn Harris in Camp Hill, Pa.

Rohrer, a leader of the state's conservative movement and tireless proponent of the elimination of Pennsylvania's onerous property tax, challenged Tom Corbett in the Republican gubernatorial primary last year.

While Corbett won the nomination and eventually was elected governor, Rohrer made a surprisingly strong showing considering the party establishment (and money) went mostly to Corbett. (Rohrer routed Corbett in Berks County by an 80%-20% margin, and Rohrer beat Corbett in Lancaster County by a 52%-48% margin).

Rohrer, who retired from the Legislature at the end of 2010 to take the post of state director for Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania, will run for the Senate seat held by first-term Democrat Bob Casey Jr., one of the most liberal members of the Senate and a close ally of President Obama.

Pennsylvania's other Senate seat is held by conservative Republican Pat Toomey.

Liberal are the minority in the American political spectrum but you wouldn't know because of their stranglehold on the news media, government and the education system.

Can conservative Sam Rohrer follow in Pat Toomey's footsteps and win a seat in the U.S. Senate from Pennsylvania?

Toomey knocked off incumbent Arlen Specter in 2010.

If Rohrer can oust ultra-liberal Bob Casey Jr. in 2012, it would give Pennsylvania two of the most conservative Senators in the country.

Although the Republican field is crowded, Rohrer is the early frontrunner. He's the only candidate who has run a statewide campaign. Rohrer ran for the GOP nomination for governor in 2012 against eventual winner Tom Corbett.

And Rohrer has the same support that Toomey did from the conservative base of the Republican Party in Pennsylvania.

Leaving aside the televised, overly scripted, predictable and marginally useful "debates" now taking place between the Republican candidates for president, there are much more important discussions going on between conservatives and independents who are unified in their belief that for the good of the nation, Barack Obama must be defeated.

Those discussions — taking place across kitchen tables, in lunchrooms, or in neighborhood bars after a week of hard work — are trying to determine which path to follow in the approaching political fork in the road.

One of those paths will most likely lead to the defeat of Mr. Obama. The other could very well ensure his re-election.

It is critical for Republicans, conservatives, and independents to remember that from the 2008 GOP field, John McCain had the stamp of approval from the mainstream media.

In fact, the liberal media worked overtime to resurrect his then all but comatose campaign. Why?

That same liberal media told us that independents and a good number of Democrats just loved McCain.
