I was disappointed yesterday to learn that Gov. Tom Corbett has not read House Bill 1776 (The Property Tax Independence Act), has not met with its sponsor, Rep. Jim Cox, and did not know enough about the bill to take a position on it. The elimination of school property taxes is the No. 1 issue facing Pennsylvania taxpayers ... and the governor better get up to speed on it.
