From the editorial page of The Mercury:
THORNS to some Philadelphia Democratic Party committee members who urged
voters to refuse to show identification to poll workers as part of
Tuesday’s test run for the new voter ID law in Pennsylvania. The law has
its drawbacks, particularly for older voters and the low-income, but
that doesn’t justify those who are part of the political process
encouraging voters to disobey it. Philadelphia already has a reputation
for voting irregularities. We would hope those who work within the
electoral system would also work to make it better and never discourage
voters from legally participating.
