Keep the pressure on lawmakers to prevent tax hike

As of Friday, 11 state Senators and 73 state Representatives have made the affirmation to oppose new taxes on Pennsylvania families and businesses, according to the Commonwealth Foundation, but it takes 26 Senators or 102 Representatives to stop a tax increase.

Taxpayers must keep the pressure on the Legislature to oppose any of Gov. Ed Rendell's proposed tax increases.

Find out if your area lawmakers have signed the No Tax pledge here.

You can also sign an online petition opposing new taxes at http://pleasenomoretaxes.org/

Do you not think its a joke when we have reps like Tim Hennessey who sign the pledge but have a 16 year track record to the contrary?

He voted himself the unthical payraise, explained why he was right in keeping the COLA, voted himself a 50% pension increase.

Oh an in regards to a pension, the state constitution explictly says salary and mileage. Thats it.

Another bum pretending to care.

Hi Tony, I read a little further and see you have a few articles on line here today, are you planning on running for a GOP spot?
Seems your articles point that way.
Did the GOP tell you with their plan not only will the School Districts get cut back to 2006, that 6000 State Employees will lose their jobs? You are much better educated than me, how does that help the economy? Help with the recession in PA? If you can answer these, you are ready for your GOP run.
One last question, with our Legislative quota already "fat", take another look at S 850 any reduction in the Legislative numbers to make it a true across the board cut?
Go easy Tony, it's Sunday, don't tell too many lies.
